Tapas trend kicks off

Que Pasa, the Latino bar chain, has experienced a 40% hike in tapas sales since launching its latest promotion ‘Tapas Tuesdays’.

The decision to launch the promotion stemmed from the group's customer feedback, which revealed that there is a growing trend towards eating lighter meals.

The menu includes delights such as Pan-Fried Tiger Prawns, Potatas Fritas with Chorizo, Spanish Tortilla and Crunchy Portobello Mushrooms. It is available from 12pm to 10pm and each dish is priced at £2.60.

Paul Wright, brand manager for the chain, said: "We knew demand was high for this casual, style of dining but to see such a large increase in sales in such a short period is amazing. Tapas has always been part of our menu, but now it has become one of our main focuses."
