Nando's gets BBQ clever

An innovative marketing approach has paid off for The Grocery Company, as consumers at Homebase snap up Nando’s Marinades whilst buying their summer barbeque.

Following recent reports that because of the credit crunch Brits simply can't afford to go on costly days out, the result will see the traditional barbeque become an even more common family activity over the bank holiday weekends and summer holidays.

The Grocery Company, who sell and market the Nando's products identified this trend and as the result, the 'Marinade Triple Packs' will sell directly alongside barbeques in Homebase stores nationwide.

It is a unique marketing strategy that has proven successful, as sales have already exceeded expectations despite the rainy weather.

Ben Johnson of The Grocery Company says "This unique product placement has proven that impulse purchasing when in the right environment really does work. Nando's Peri-Peri Marinades are already the market leader and this is just another way of reaching out to Nando's fans.

"We're capitalising on the growth of the family barbeque and at the same time helping Britain combat those bank holiday blues."

Nando's Marinade Triple Packs are priced at £4.99 and are available at Homebase stores nationwide.
