Head chef at The Swan wins Acorn Award

Winner Scott Goss

Scott Goss, head chef at The Swan in West Malling, has scooped an Acorn Award.

Scott joined the 29 other winners for a two day celebration at Oxford's Mal Maison and a glittering awards ceremony last week, where he was presented with a glass award and an Acorn pin.

The head chef competed against some of the industry's leading names including the Sheraton Park Tower, Café Royal, Le Pont de la Tour, and Marriott International.

Commenting on his award, Scott said: "It has given real recognition for the regional, seasonal and culinary vision I have developed for The Swan, together with my talented and supportive team. This prestigious award has made me determined to keep pushing forward and raising the bar."

The winning chef has worked at The Swan for three years and was promoted to head chef in January. He has previously worked under top chefs including Adam Gray, Gary Rhodes, Robert Spencer, and Anton Edelmann.

Scott concluded: "It has been a delight to bring together the finest, freshest ingredients from the region and work alongside a talented team here at The Swan to deliver a stunning menu featuring honest and affordable dishes that appeal to a broad cross section of sophisticated taste buds."

The awards, sponsored by Unilever Foodsolutions, are now in their 22nd year.
