Dickie Bird fronts British sausage week

Legendary cricket umpire Dickie Bird MBE is the face of British Sausage Week 2009 (3-9 November 2008).

Dickie said: "I'm so chuffed to be involved in British Sausage Week – sausages are as much a part of Britain's heritage as cricket and I can't wait to get sampling the best that each region has to offer."

This year the focus is on the many different types of 'regional' sausage and so pubs, restaurants and foodservice operators are being urged to get involved.
