Charlton House wins £3 million contract with IET

Contractor Charlton House has won a contract worth £3 million with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

The independent contact caterers have been appointed to manage the catering facilities at four IET sites in London, Birmingham, Stevenage (Herts) and Glasgow.

Operating over four floors, the Institution's flagship site – Savoy Place in London – offers 20 meeting rooms which include two purpose-build lecture theatres seating up to 462 people in the larger of the two.

Nico Prinsloo, the contractor's senior business development manager, commented: "We will cater for an exceptionally diverse client base at Savoy Place, across a range of events, from conferences and product launches to formal dinners and board meetings.

"Situated next door to The Savoy Hotel, the business has grown considerably over the past three years, both commercially and in terms of brand awareness within the London venues scene. Our aim is now to bring the food offer in line with the contemporary décor and ambience."

Charlton House provided its services at the IET'S Stevenage site on 2 January and is expected to begin catering at the IET's Birmingham and Glasgow venues in September.
