Burger King to launch burger with whopping price tag

Burger King will look to secure its premium offering this year by launching a burger that is set to be the UK’s most expensive.

At around £85 the burger will contain Wagyu beef and foie gras and availability is being restricted to Central London outlets to maintain a sense of exclusivity.

In a statement a Burger King spokesperson explained the move: "As an extension of our quality burger menu, which includes ingredients such as 100% Aberdeen Angus beef certified by the Aberdeen Angus Society, we can confirm that we're currently developing what will be potentially be the UK's most expensive burger in our kitchens."

They added: "Made with the finest ingredients such as Wagyu beef and foie gras, the burger is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to serving up the best quality ingredients for a range of different pockets and will launch in selected restaurants in early summer."

Other news stories have claimed the inspiration was found when Selfridges discontinued a sandwich worth £85 containing black truffles and brie cheese.

The launch of the burger is said to be the first of a few and future products could include tiger prawns and steak with guacamole.
