Bunzl Vending & Coffee Point spreads ethical message

Bunzl Vending & Coffee Point is playing a front line role in adopting and promoting ethical trading policies to its flourishing client base.

The vending operator is a big supporter of 'fair trade' and 'ethically traded' products where more ethical trading policies are adopted to ensure a better deal for producers, suppliers and their workers.

Leading by example they are set to open their doors on their first regional event on 11th July for a open day at their Shrewsbury office and have invited customers along to see for themselves just how they are developing their services.

The full day-long event will also launch Bunzl Vending & Coffee Point's association with the Rainforest Alliance.

The Rainforest Alliance is a leading international non-profit conservation organisation operating in over 50 countries.

It collaborates with farmers, workers, business leaders, NGO's, governments and local communities to develop and implement standards in coffee farming that are socially and environmentally responsible, as well as economically viable.

Bunzl Vending & Coffee Point branch manager, Rosalyn Backhouse, explained more: "We've made it our mission to provide our customers with the complete range of ethically sourced products and the open day is designed to promote our green credentials. By the end of the summer we're aiming for all our in-cup products to be Rainforest Alliance and are delivering mainline vending machines with initiatives such as power-down energy saving technology."

Key supplier partners including Kenco and Imporient will also be supporting the day by showcasing their growing range of food and drink products which guarantee a fairer deal for producers, particularly in developing countries.

The elaborate art of creating the perfect coffee will also be demonstrated by a barista champion from Masteroast using a variety of their fair trade and organically certified coffees.

Rosalyn continued: "We feel it is important to support ethical trading wherever possible to help improve workers' rights and reduce general exploitation in developing countries.

"As a company we are fully committed to the aims and benefits of ethically traded products. We fully embrace the fair trade and ethically sourced philosophy and hope to persuade more and more of our clients to compare their existing offering with an ethically sourced product."
